Jig heads for bigger Swimbait?

Featured Replies

What do you use for like a 5” paddle tail Swimbait?  I don’t want to go more than 1/4 oz and I haven’t found many good options with large enough hooks.  What should I be using-   At least 4/0 or 5/0?

Ledgehead makes a good one as well.

If you're looking for a highly weedless swimbait jig,

check out the Revenge Swim Jig. It's available in 1/4 oz with a 5/0 round-bend hook.

Check out kalins swimbait and saltwater bullet jigs, I think the 1/4 size come in 3/0 and 4/0, also owner makes a saltwater inshore jig that uses a 3/0, all hooks are really stout, 3x iirc, and are plenty big enough for 5” bodies.

6th Sense swim jigheads have very oversized hooks on them and they're available in lighter weights.
