Chickamauga spot for Mini boat?

Featured Replies

I have a bass raider style mini bass boat and was thinking about driving down from ohio for a day on the water. Any spots or areas that would be good and safe for a trolling motor only mini bass boat? Obviously only looking to fish shallow. Maybe somewhere regular sized boats can’t access?

Every mini boaters dream is areas the big boats can't zoom by.   I had a perfect 1/4 mile open area full of bass back in the day.

I'm not sure what happened but there are no fish in there now.  Chemical spraying of hyacinth, shoreline cover removal, and the bucket brigade most likely.

Hope you find a few spots.

I have put in in an area off of Hornsby Rd.

It takes you right into Sewee creek that leads to the chick.

It's a gorgeous back water area ,but guys fish everywhere on that lake.

I've only fished it early spring and late fall.

My old tourney partner landed a couple of 8+lbers the first spring we checked it out.

I have not been there for a couple of years though.

Heres a view where you can see the ramp and the creek from River Rd.

There are miles and miles of backwater but today’s boats can pretty much get to all of it. I’ve seen plenty of mud boats on chickamauga and a few airboats

It doesn’t have to be somewhere regular bass boats can’t access I was just spitballing

Tons of sloughs on the upper end to fish in the back of, then there’s richland creek but that’s where all the big tourneys go out of. You could fish parts of the hiawassee and ocoee rivers but they have strong current at times. There’s a large part of the river off the main channel called Soddy in the area of Soddy daisy. You could get back into sale creek, Dallas bay, wolftever creek, possum creek, grasshopper, you’ve got a lot of options
