How do you use your Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Craw?

T-rig with a 1/8, 3/16, or 1/4 ounce weight, and as a trailer on a jig.

I T-rig mine with a small split shot. Watermelon red works best for me.

Its kind of hit or miss with them but when its on its good.

I like skipping them around brush piles.

I was using a 1/4 swimjig (with a trailer: pumpkin colored Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Craw) and Shimano Expride ML rod this morning, and I missed a good number of my hooksets. I landed 'bout three two pounders along the way. Anyhoo, should I have used a M rod instead? My ML rod has a decent amount of backbone so naturally I am a bit perplexed.  .

How certain are you that the fish ate the whole swim bait and didn't just nip the claw bits? I have missed a lot of fish over the years with my hair trigger set because I jumped early...

I don't, and you may have a point there!

I fish them on a 1/16oz bullet weight on a Dobyns 704c.

*Please Note* : Zoom just came out with a new , larger version of the Ultra Vibe Speed Craw ... It would offer a slightly larger profile best for flipping / pitching .

I’m guessing the three you landed were hooked in the soft tissue of their mouths.
Even the lighter wire hooks on a 1/4oz. jig call for a rod with, not only some backbone, but a fast or mod. Fast action.  Braid helps, but can’t make up for too much flex in the rod used.

Bottom line.....Use a Med/Fast rod
