curado dc or tatula sv on doybns 734c??

Featured Replies

Which reel would suit the rod for its attended uses/all purpose bass fishing? Thnks

I've got a Curado DC on a Dobyns champion 735c glass and love it. Just my opinion of course. Pretty exciting to catch a good sized bass on one. Don't know about all purpose. I fish a lot of hard baits.

If you want to save a few bucks the Tatula 100 or 150 are both nice reels. I've got a 100 on my Fury 734c. I use the 734 as my jig and spinnerbait rod.

I got a DC for father’s day.  I like it well enough that I bought a second one this week.

Tatula if working cover roll casting, pitching and skipping.  Curado DC if casting for distance.

This... Tatula SV if doing anything involve lighter finesse, shorter/medium distances and obviously it excels for skipping.  I have both reels (and that rod) and the only knock on the Tatula is that it doesn't hold a lot of line.  So for instance you are using heavier line (i.e 17 lb fluoro) to chuck chatterbaits long distances, you can run out of line after a few break-offs.  The SV spool is great but does not have a lot of line capacity.

I broke down and got a Curado DC at lunch. I'm now broke, but it was worth it!

I am not sure about the Curado DC, but I can attest this is true for the Curado K.

I have a SLX DC on my Champion XP 734c, I think the DC reels balance better with it because it is over a 5 oz rod, the Tatula SV might be a little light for it.

I just purchased a tatila elite.  Will be dedicated for crank baits.

Tatula SV, I have fished both and I am convinced the SV is the better platform. The only Shimano reel I have left is my Bantam MGL, it's a complete workhorse and my favorite frog reel. Smooth as butter.
