Looks like they finally added a PG to Curado K line up.

It's been a while since I have seen a reel that fits the build for lefty cranking, I have been using a lefty Bantam PG that I really like. But with a 5:0:1 gear ratio I  can throw some really big deep divers , I assume the handle will something like 84mm, so that will need to be replaced.

Finally something to replace the old Chronarch E's.

Still have my trusty 201E5 on a MH crankbait rod but I'll definitely be upgrading soon

Most likely it will have the same 90mm handle as the regular Curado and the HG.

90mm is ok in my opinion,  given its 5:0:1 gear ratio, this will become a dedicated cranking reel, im thinking a 105mm avail handle, personally I like the longer handles when dealing with moving baits, especially crankbaits. I've been eyeing the new okuma crankbait select rods(graphite), I think this would pair very well with one.

They havent had a reel like this in the USA market since the Curado 200i PG which i have and love. But its gear ratio is slightly higher than this at 5.5:1.

What does the PG stand for? I see it offers a 5.0:1 gear ratio. Other than that I assume EVERYTHING else (weight, spool size, line capacity, handle type/size) is the same as the other Curado K models?

The lower gear ratio is it. From what I have read and heard every thing else will be the same as the standard  Curado K.

I still have 7 Bantam200 series reels (greenies) I have all 3 speeds & use my CU 201B38 (B.3.8:1) For deep running crankbaits & buzzbaits in the thicker grass. It gives the a bit more time to find it & get to it. I do own a Curado 201 K XG Which I use for bottom baits. I agree they are solid reels & was thinking of getting the mgl version. Until I found a deal on a Shimano Scorpion 201 mgl Xg which is pretty much the same as the mgl K. so I was told. I will find out though.

PG stands for "power gear". It's the lettering they give to their 5x models.
