6’8” medium mod fast?

Featured Replies

I asked this question a week ago and was ready to order a Shimano rod and as of today that rod is sold out. Now I am looking to place a Curado 70 on a Falcon 6’8” medium mod-fast rod. How versatile would this rod be? I was wanting a jerkbait rod but would it also be good for lipless? Shallow cranks? Squarebills? All advice is noted and appreciated!

Don Iovino Major Craft Splash-It rod NAC- T681M/SI fits your requirements; 6’8” medium fast, 1/4- 1/2 oz, 6-15 lb line

I use this rod for multi purpose w/Sunline Armillo 11 lb line. Last outing I used unweighted 5” Senko, 5/8 square bill and 3/4 oz structure spoons with good success.

I have a 6'8" Lowrider MH/MF rod, it is probably the same as I consider it a strong M about like a St Croix M. It was supposed to be their all purpose rod. I do not consider it a jerkbait/topwater type rod, more like a spinnerbait/lipless crank rod but again it is all purpose just not ideal for most techniques.

Tom,

Is this line durable enough to last more than one season? I ask because the filler spools are 165 yds.

It’s    .011 D and closer to .010 in reality so my HTSA 153 reel took the 165 yards to fill it!

I had the 25 lb on my swimbaits reels for 4 years before selling them this year, very durable line.

That is exactly what my son uses for at least the jerk-bait and small square-bill. Which is not to say they wouldn't work just as well for the other, but he just always has one or the other tied on to that rod.
