Split ring preference...

I'm going to guess that most of you are like me and don't know what size split-rings are hanging the treble hooks on your baits...  For those of you OCD enough to have a preference, what size(s) and brand ring do you like.

For hooks #3 and larger - I use a #3 split ring. #8-#4 hooks get a #2, #10 and smaller get a #1.

If I'm doing general adds (the gift package) where I'm using VMC 9650 hooks, VMC Stainless Steel split rings.

Where I'm upgrading to Owner Stingers, Owner Hyperwire split rings.

Seems like a #2 and #3 will cover most all traditional sized bass baits. I stay well stocked on those sizes along with a few #1s for the micro baits.

As for brand, everything Owner

Owner Hyperwire is all I use. If I'm going through the trouble of changing them out, I'm going with a solid upgrade.

Ditto. I know some guys change out every bait they buy. I don't go that crazy, but if I'm changing the hooks I'm changing the rings while I'm at it. Or if the stock rings are obviously junk, which happens more than it should for what lures cost these days...

Truth. There's some garbage components on some baits. Half the time I think they put the cheapest stuff on knowing that their clientele is just going to remove them anyway.

I use Rosco in #2 and #3. They're cheaper if you have a Sportsman Warehouse than on eBay. Even cheaper if you find a website that sells them in bulk.
