  1. Like others I switched to these and have not gone back to senkos.
  2. electric shad works for me.
  3. I am right handed but started fishing with lefty spinning reels. My first BC was a lefty curado cu201. I've only owned lefties and have no desires to learn to use a righty.
  4. 7lb lmb on a cotton cordell blue chrome pencil popper while chasing stripers.
  5. I agree with all the fellas suggesting big game in 12lb. Once you are proficient, then go braid.
  6. Striped bass and salmon are my favs. This year my brother caught a thresher shark and it tasted like beef. You get lots of meat from them. Have a friend who tried 15lb carp. He said they tasted fatty and oily and that the fish smell is still on his landing net even after a few days. ?
  7. For spinning I don't use less than 20lb and I go with a stiffer line like power pro, sufix performance and 832. BC, I don't use less than 30lb daiwa j braid (not grand). For topwater I use 50 lb 832.
  8. Call your tackle dealer and see if they do repairs. My local mom and pop does repair for $5 labor. The tips are normally $1.50 to $3 depending on size and brand. They would have a few tackle boxes filled with tips. If the breakage is more than a few inches, consider getting a new rod as the repair would change the action of the rod.
  9. I'm kinda in the same situation. Just got delivery of a few packs of Yum Pulse in 4.5" but won't get to try them since the season is already over. I have been using keitech easy shiner, bass assassin elite shiner and zoom boot tails. I couldn't tell the differences between the three. They all kinda do the same thing. The body profile are very similar between the ba and keitech.
  10. Same here. Bought a couple spinning rods a few years back, both rods came in two smaller boxes that were hastily taped together. Both arrived with broken tips. Amazon was very good in refunding because I did not want to deal with it again. All reels I have bought from them came in new condition unless I purposely bought AWD. Like other have said, buy "sold by and shipped from Amazon" or from retailers who are known to sell sporting goods to avoid issues.
  11. I use Rosco in #2 and #3. They're cheaper if you have a Sportsman Warehouse than on eBay. Even cheaper if you find a website that sells them in bulk.
  12. I clean at the start of every season and little here and there if I feel the reel needs it. I service every 2 or so years. Fully break down the reel, dawn with water in ultrasonic cleaner. Bearings get baby food jar with acetone. Grease and oil when put back together.
  13. I prefer green but buy whatever is on sale. They lose their color sooner or later.
