Dobyns 703c Finesse Jigs?

Featured Replies

Just wanted to get yalls thoughts, I’m beginning in to jig fishing and purchased a 704c to throw 3/8 oz jigs. I’ve been gravitating towards finesse jigs and have been playing with dirty jigs 5/16 Finesse jigs and just ordered some Seibert Snipers in the same weight.

My 703 is my main Texas rig rod, I love the way it casts the 1/2 oz  total package lure weight (usually 1/4 oz weight and a trick worm).

Does the 703 have enough power for the hook set in yalls opinion for these finesse jig presentations?  I’d love to be able to throw the finesse jigs on that rod and throw the bigger jigs on my 704 (or 735).

Absolutely, stuck one yesterday on a 1/2oz jig with heavy wire 4/0 hook .
