spinnerbait blade configuration

I dont know about all that stuff . I have caught big bass on Beetle Spins . I use to fish Colorados exclusively , especially those big copper ones but it seemed to me the bass get accustomed to them rather quickly while  willows still get bit . Now I almost exclusively throw a willow with a 4.5 or 5 main blade even in dingy to muddy water .

  • Blade choice for me is driven more by retrieve, not popularity. Retrieve is validated by bites.

  • I fish 'clear' water most of the time as well. My best spinnerbait conditions include any water that will have the brown bass in 10 feet or less and willing to chase a bait a ways; usually post s

@king fisher I have a friend that does the same thing on Toledo Bend except he throws a 1/2 oz Stanley Original Vibrashaft double wllowleaf gold & white skirt.

He likes to eat fish so he keeps a limit of 8 daily for 3-4 days & goes home till he runs out.

He starts at Fin-n-Feather never cranking his outboard & heads west down the bank to the end of the creek, turns around, & heads back. This takes him most of the day.

The point is more anglers are overlooking spinnerbaits for swim jigs & chatterbaits.

Spinnerbaits are still deadly & are another tool in the box.

Oh! Yeah I prefer double willowleaf or willowleaf & Colorado in the front.

I absolutely love that everyone is getting away from throwing a spinnerbait, I have one of those new Plano EDGE boxes stuffed full of them, and two more 12 quart Sterilite boxes of them, and they are one of my top 3 all time favorite confidence baits, the less the fish see everyone else using them, the better they will bite mine, these things are as weedless as anything out there, you can fish the entire water column with them, and you have a ton of different options for how fast you move one, about the only thing it can't do is suspend, true 4x4 workhorse lure in my tackle box.
