Arid x vs sellus

Haven't used a newer model Sellus, but the older models weren't great while the Arid x fishes well above it's price range. I'd use more of them if theu were offered in more models.

I've got 4 different Aird-X models. 7' H/F, 7' MH/F, 6'6 M/F in casting and 6'6 M/F in spinning. The two 6'6 models are moving to shore fishing while I'll still be using the two 7' models in the canoe this coming season.

I've handled Dobyns Colts - which are $25 more - and I still prefer the Aird-X over the Colt.

I have two baitcasting Aird X’s: a AIRX661MFB and a AIRX701MHFB. They are hard to beat for the money.

I have a Sellus spinning rod that I use but would describe as just OK.  It works for the price, but I have other rods in the same inexpensive end of the range that are better.

Great price for that rod! I think you will like it.

I think you'll like it. I'm keeping my 7' MH/F Aird-X in the lineup for next year, replaced the 7' MH/F Laguna with a Fury 704.

Good rod, especially at that price.

I only got the Laguna last year cause I needed another MH/F rod in a hurry and it's all the local shop  had that was

A: Semi-decent

B: Affordable.

It did okay - I definitely prefer the Aird over the Laguna.

I have a Laguna spinning rod that works decent for small jerkbaits and cranks. I just use it for a beater rod when I'm fishing from the bank. They're on sale at Academy also and I'd have no problem buying another for $25.

Ya - the Laguna with my old President BC is shifting to the bank-beater trio.

The other bank-beater rigs are

Trion-30 on the 6'6 M/F Aird-X

Avocet RZT-1000 on the 6'6 ML/F Avocet

My son has 2 Laguna spinning rods.  They arent bad rods.  He was catching fish on a jerkbait with me a few days ago on them with 8lb yo zuri line.  Great value rod for a kid or to have as a beater Rod.  Not sensitive on any level with the rods I use, but I like the actions.  Great rod for the 28 bucks I spent.
