Simple Question About Dobyns Champion Extreme 743

Featured Replies

Would you say that the Dobyns Champion Extreme is a Medium Heavy? By that I mean is it heavy or light enough to be considered a medium heavy or is it a true medium heavy in the first place.

It’s on the higher end of a medium. It’s closer to a medium heavy than a medium In the traditional sense. It has a lot more power than you would expect but I wouldn’t consider it a typical medium heavy rod

Would u think it would work for 1/4 oz t rigs. That’s considering just the weight

It's perfect for 3/16 and 1/4oz texas rigs.

Hawg I must disagree I have 2 Champion Extreme HP DX 743C FH rods  & they are a M/H. the is no standard for rod rankings. If you compare the rod build & power that rod has it is a M/H. I use mine every time out they will easily use a 1/4 oz. texas rig

Its kind of irrelevant to debate what rod power is as theres no industry standard. Regardless, the gen3 extreme 3 power rod will handle exactly what the you want
