I’m a follower not a leader, so I mimic the pros and say “big un” or “giant” as soon a I feel the tap or see my line move. My accuracy in predicting the size while setting the hook is on par with thei

@schplurg loved the "oh!". Just a guess, but it seemed like you said this on unexpected and/or violent strikes... good stuff. I also liked how you stepped it up to "oh shhh" on the good topwater hit.

I've come to the same conclusion after watching that! The surprise strikes get the "Oh!" Kinda funny watching/hearing myself, and I love having my biggest catches all on video. I almost always use the camera.

Edit to add:

I also noticed many many of those catches were right next to shore. A couple were practically at the rod tip with 2 feet of line out.

Either a "Here we go", "Fish on", or "Booyah" depending on how long between bites or type of hit.

“Oh” or “oop” or “ope”. You get the idea.

LOL - that is exactly me.  I feel a good tick or whatever, something in that set comes out automatically.  If its just a lite nip, followed by something better - my speech reflects it lol.

After a successful hook set, "There we go!" seems to pop out a lot.  BUT - my favorite saying is about mid-fight when I anxiously say, "Get the net!"   Doesn't happen nearly enough...
