I’ve been a heavy braid user for awhile and tried to forego the leader and go straight fluoro. When I was done for the day I hooked my jig around the hooker keeper and reeled up my slack, and took care to not over tighten to avoid this issue. Couple days later I went to go out and it looks like it kinked up around the rod tip while stored.

I don't leave lures on longer than it takes to get home and nip them off. Then I clip one of these on the end of the line and reel it up until the little ball touches the tip-top.

What is "it" in "it kinked up?"  I cannot figure out what you are talking about.  Sounds like it might be that the FC has a "kink" in it around the rod tip?

 

If that's it, just pull that area of the FC through your hands under tension to heat it and straighten it out.  Or ignore it.

I regularly store about 18 or so rods in the boat at all times with fluoro or mono on them of various lb tests. Lure goes on the hanger near the reel and the line is just tightened up enough to not get tangled with the others ( they’re all in rod socks as well), and they will get a slight kink right at the rod tip, but I’ve never once had an issue with it breaking at that point. I’d say as long as your not cranking it down super tight, it should be just fine. Hook a couple fat ones next time out and it’ll stretch out perfectly ?.

I see it now in the OP, sorry I missed it.  Not to worry, just do as I say above, as waynorthbassguy says, or ignore.  All will be well.

I store my rod with the line bent across the tip all the time. I've never had my line fail due to the bend. In fact, after a few casts, the bend is gone.

The idea seems strange to me, because I've never seen line memory in braid.  

I've gone to all braid mostly because I hate line memory coils in mono/fluoro.  

All my one-piece rods are stored rigged and ready to fish, and while a fluoro leader will take a temporary bend set, never seen it in braid.

It’s not in my braid, it’s in my fluoro. 

I imagine youre going to at least retie the jig, right?

Especially since knots degrade over time. Since for me it's going to be at least a week before I go out again, I disassemble everything and store it away until the evening before my next trip out.

I retie all my stuff night before, but not really interested in having to rethread eyelets from cutting off lures and the line falling through.  How are you storing the loose line?  Reeling it up?
