First time posting here but I'm replacing a few of my electronics and I've decided to go with a Solix unit from HB. My question is I can get a 15'' gen 2 unit for the same price as a 10" unit gen 3 unit. Is the new gen3 worth the loss of 5"? It has the same transducer and the only main difference I can find is that the processor is new, but from what I've heard, the gen2 are not slow units. Thanks.

I believe your right, I have G3 but I never had a G2 so I can't say for sure. Also welcome to the forum.

From what I’ve read is the Gen3 has a faster processor and I believe only Gen3 is compatible with MEGA LIVE.

That seems like the only differences to me. I don't have any use for the Live. I don't think the new processor will be a lot faster from other forums i've read.

No. gen 2 and 3 solixs are suposed to be compatable with live. I would go with the much bigger screen. Doesnt look like a major upgrade between the two.

I may be wrong, but I think some of the replies are confusing the Helix series with the Solix series.

Your right I was. Better put my readers on...

Gen 3 has faster processer and will receive updates longer. Some things may come out later like bluetooth and other options but in a nutshell that is the major differences.

Both gen 2 and 3 solix units will do all things mega!
