Alabama rigs and swim baits. I am headed out here in a few hours and I will try them both and probably end up empty handed. I can catch white bass on an A rig but that's about it. I guess I don't have the patience for a swim bait.

Man next time i go out in trying out the A Rig for the first time and you're making me nervous!! I thought it was a cast, retrieve, hold on deal!?!?

It might very well be that easy, but I haven't had any luck with it. I threw it for probably an hour yesterday morning because I was really going to try to get a good one on it, but no luck.

Konawa. I saw some shad floating so I know they are dying and the bass should be feeding up on them, but I couldn't make it happen.

Was there fish near by..?  There are certain techniques using A rigs and swimbaits, depending on conditions.. Don't give up on them, they will catch fish.
