Cork vs foam rod handles

No real preference. I might prefer decent quality foam simply because cork pits.

Grip material is largely an aesthetic decision imo. Palming a casting reel or holding a spinner at the seat so little of the hand contacts the grip, material and feel is of little consequence.

Like cork, there are different qualities of foam.  The foam from years ago and the stuff on cheap rods is junk.

I don't really care as long as the butt end doesn't catch and stick to my shirt.  That's annoying.

I slightly prefer a good foam grip.  They seem to be more durable when abused and require a little less maintenance.  Though, I own cork grips too, and as long as they're quality cork, they're fine by me.

I am full cork guy, But sometimes you don't have that option, Like my 908 Dobyns champion, or my spinning Conquest 842 that split cork handle.

I really don't know why but I feel much better using full cork handles.
