Dang Bait Monkey.

One of my major past times while sitting around here in the hospital is reading fishing forums.  Don't need any more gear, but getting the Jones for a couple more rods.  Bad timing as none I like are on sale.  I hate paying full price.  Falcon Head Turner and Amistad are two I want.  Originally thought both in the Lowrider line, but maybe I'll go with the head Turner in the Expert line.  Another rod that has caught my attention is the Tatula 7'1"ML....and I seldom fish spinning, but this rod sounds great.

Then we have the new Victory line and the new and improved Zodias.  Geez.  Does it ever stop!  :wall1:

I really like my new Zodias. I know that doesn't help. Get well. YOU CAN'T BEAT THE MONKEY!

Let’s put it this way. If King Kong was the Bait Monkey, Godzilla wouldn’t stand a chance!

I know how you feel. The bait monkey took every penny of my birthday funds back in January lol I told family and friends that I wanted fishing gear and such and ended up with money. Roughly $230 worth of tacklewarehouse baits and a new 7’ M Vendetta rod. I just try and treat the bait monkey like a distant relative that I drop in and see once in awhile because we get along pretty well lol

However, with a baby on the way, I cannot afford to keep the bait monkey so close to home.

Congrats!  My wife and I welcomed our son into the world 7 weeks ago.  The bait monkey won't be nearly as big of an influence as you think it will be.  Your priorities are going to change really fast and bait monkey will be locked in a closet somewhere.  He will occasionally make noise to get out, but it's much easier to let it go in one ear and out the other when you have a little one around.  I haven't bought any gear since a couple of weeks before he was born.  Prior to that, I was buying something every week; at least a bait or two and sometimes a new rod or reel.

Thanks and congrats to you as well friend! I was literally spending money weekly myself on tackle and such and the instant we found out about the baby I stepped back and realized just what a massive amount of gear I actually had. Looks like we both will be sharing our love of fishing with some little ones very soon!
