Does the interior of your kayak smell like gym locker room?

My Hobie is fairly watertight.  But opening the hatches will allow the occasional dribble to run  in.   I towel dry when I store.  A few times; whoa.  Darkness + moist + warm = funk    Mold I suppose.

i store it upside down in my garage.  I drop open all the hatches now. I even insert a desk fan and move the air around for a night.  No more funk.

you have any tips?

No tips....until something dies in there, I'm unconcerned with how the inside smells.  My Hobie has not been bone dry since I bought it over two years ago....I sponge out standing water when it gets to the 'sloshing point'

Maybe its your funky smelling feet. ?

No smell in mine.

You need to air it out.  Mine has a lot of floatation foam inside, so any dampness, and it's gonna stink.

Nope. Just checked. Not my feet.

Yes.  I’m also subjected to the occasional mussel inspection.  My hull needs to be dry.

Throw your empty beer cans inside the hull, that way it’ll smell like stale beer and not like stale butt.

My gym locker smells like the inside of a kayak. Does that count?

never - gets washed inside and out every trip - of course, most every trip is salt

easy to back in and slide it on my sawhorse stands.

The dribbles of water that remain are easily sponged through the hatches
