I found an old Team Daiwa reel in my closet I forgot I had that's probably around 20 years old and it's never been fished or even had line on it.  I've looked everywhere online and on Ebay and have never seen one like it with the gold hardware.  Anyone know anything about it or what it might possibly be worth?  I remember they were really popular with the pros back in the day.  I've attached some pics of it below.  Any info would be helpful.

It wasn't a very expensive reel.

I believe Walmart had it for around $50 when it was in stock. Probably in the 90's sometimes.

I thought about picking up a few for myself back in the day.

Google Team Daiwa 103 HI. The reel itself isn't uncommon but brand new is obviously rare. Not worth much though. 

ebay search only for Sold listings shows two Team Daiwa Gold sold together for $41 after 10 bids.  

 

The one that appears to sell high is Team Daiwa 103HSDF, which has a silver body and several sold examples from $135 to $145.  Consider we've been in a seller's market for 2 years now.  Need box and papers to get top dollar.

Review for you.  It was a $210 reel back in Feb. 2002.

I have a TD-X 100HSDF and TD-X 103HL and 3 other TD-X models.   

 

Simple research to answer the OP's question can find what its value is in 2021.  

Digging a little deeper can let you speculate and turn a few pieces of old tackle into many more new tackle pieces.  @new2BC4bass

In today's money, this was a $650 reel in 1914, and is still worth that today.  

 

Tackle values can be fickle from year to year, brand/model prices can be affected by interest from collectors in Japan that can go on for several years then suddenly the demand disappears...  But overall, '20 and '21 have been the strongest years ever - we all see the empty tackle shelves.  

funny thing, after 100 yrs, the box and papers are worth more than the item itself.
