What kind of glue did you use?

Can't guarantee it'll work without causing damage to the rod...but...

Carefully - and with as small an amount as it takes - dribble a little acetone into the joint. That will soften/dissolve the super-glue...but too much and you'll take paint off as well as affecting the epoxy used on rods over the wrapping.

If you're worried about damaging the rod...

Congratulations - you're now the proud owner of a 1-piece rod.

Just remember - it might damage the rod in a way that will make it un-usable...so think carefully on it.

I will only use a small amount a little bigger than the amount of glue I put on and hope fully it will come apart

1. Get a friend, someone you kind of know, neighbor, stranger.

2. Get beer

3. you grab one end, they grab the other.

4. Pull

5. there you go

Is taking it apart important enough to chance ruining it? Is it a nice rod or a piece of junk? I would ask myself those questions first.

Next time use hot glue.  Easy to melt it.

OP hasn't posted since starting this thread a year and a half ago. Doubt you'll get an answer.
