AC70MHM replacement?

Featured Replies

I lost my beloved crankbait rod and am in the market to get a replacement. Before I buy another I'd like to hear some alternative options particularly if they are a better value. The rod was perfect, not looking to spend any more than the Avid.

Falcon Lowrider or Bucoo rods are a great value at their price point. They're technique specific, so there's no guessing. I own the "big cranker" Lowrider ($129) and the Bucoo "Pitching Stick" ($99). Love them both.

Thanks for the suggestions,  I own a few falcon spinning rods but haven't heard of Dobyns, it's been awhile since I've bought a rod. Does anyone have experience with the championship xps crankbait rods? Is there a noticeable weight difference and blank quality over the fury?

St. Croix Victory 7'2" MH Moderate. Sounds like a good graphite rod for cranking. I actually grabbed a Major Craft Nanoace cranking rod...love it. Not much of a fan of glass cranking rods. Too heavy and not much on sensitivity for when you want to feel contact.

I have two copies.  It really is pretty perfect.  The new model number is AVC70MHM.  Look no further.

I agree, but it appears st croix is having issues keeping up with demand. There are none to be found.

Ugh. It's such a good rod.
