Lots of small fish this tourney! I didn't see another thread for this, so started this, merge or delete if I'm missing it?

 

Stupid question, I'm seeing a couple guys using some weird looking rod butts, a big baseball thing on the back of the rod.

What is this for? Weight balance? Do you have a link to these? I'm not thinking I want these, just trying to understand some more.

Helps with the rib bruising when I'm going for the Bassmaster / Hollywood hooksets.

I heard Jordan Lee had a rough day, Sunday.

Anybody have any idea of roughly when it happened? 1st period, end of day ...

(over 8 hours of coverage, kinda wanted to see it but not watch all 8+ hours)

I've watched a lot of this one.  It's been a good tournament.  Did you see when Bobby Lane reaching down to grab a fish and got his shoulder crushed between the boat and a dock? That had to hurt.  It was a nice fish though.

Yup, looks like this is it. Shaw Grisby and Stephen Browning seem to be using them I guess.

Dang, sounds like it hurt! I didn't see it, may be able to find it in the highlights.

 

Just saw Dudley lose a big one at the boat on a weightless senko off a dock near a bluff wall.

 

The wind is up, the crank and vibrating jig bite seems to be picking up...

Stupid question, any clues / ideas how Dustin Connell blanked today? Seems weird. I mean I guess I know it happens to the best of us, just curious on the story, some guys did plenty well.  Maybe he had boat problems? 

 

Sounds like first place was getting it done with a neko rig today. Go figure! 

Anyone else surprised to see Wheeler at #1? He will definitely need some more to keep Bobby Lane and Birge off of him. 

 

This tournament has been crazy as far as the suspense, and unfortunately anglers not doing well at all.

Not surprised Wheeler is #1 haha

Throwing topwater and vibrating jigs. He just got a 3-5. 

Sheesh, seems like he's able to capitalize on those bigger bites than throwing finesse worms, etc.

Neither am I. He really is the consistent guy out there all the time. 

Watching this live right now.  Literally gasped caused I thought Brent Chapman was about to get a boat landing violation. Hometown boy is doing pretty dang good.  Bought some of his lures during his estate sale this winter. 

It is definitely coming down to the wire...I've been watching all day. 

No real offshore fishing happening here? Offshore brush piles? Offshore humps / rock piles? I guess not because of the time of the year? 

 

Everyone is fishing the docks and banks!

2oz is legit crazy close. I would have d**n near asked for a re-weigh if I was Bobby Lane on the last one, just in case. 

 

that was exciting right there at the end, i was rooting for bobby to come through with the win. two ounces short what a heart breaker!

I thought it was a boring tournament until the last period.  Feel bad for Bobby.  He put on a show though.  

 

I was really rootin' for Bobby there at the end. Jacob did a great job, he's just won a ton, wanted a win for Bobby!

Wheeler got it done! I was rooting for Bobby Lane to land one more!! I watched a lot of the live on this one and enjoyed the coverage. Travis is a different type of lake than what we usually see so it was interesting to see how they were catching them.

 

On a side note I got quite a laugh out of Dudley using the crank bait to eat his avocado yesterday!
