Searching for spots to bank fish in orlando for 8+ lbers got a couple spots already but don't want to wear them out, any suggestions are appreciated, I do not litter, I do not keep Amy fish and am very respectful to my surroundings just a firefighter looking for some big bass on my days off.

Google the area and find water you want to fish. Wear your uniform and knock on 

some doors. I think most landowners will be receptive to a fireman when they would

not let Joe Smo on their property.

Look for water adjacent to other fire houses. 

Turkey Lake right next to0 the turnpike and Universal Studio produces big fish each year.  The boat rental is the best deal around.  Bank fishing is allowed all day with some interesting spots.  Don't pass up Turkey Lake.  I have fished it many times and always caught decent fish.

Boat rental for Turkey Lake you must book in advance.  Only 6 rentals and always reserved for weeks ahead.

Central Florida is one of the best places in the world to catch a 8 pound or bigger bass. Even small ponds have these fish so do not underestimate ponds that allow fishing from the shore.

From the boat and bank, I have caught them on 4" & 6" Watermelon Red senko type baits, flukes, Zoom U-Vibes.  From the boat also wacky rigged trick worms jerked off the bottom especially at the north end of the lake close to the deep bad fields.  The water flows in on the north end, and is released on the south east side.  There is a typo map of the lake on line and this helps especially on early trips in the boat.  Good luck and enjoy the experience.

Caught a 7lb 10oz and a 7lb 12oz in the past three weeks out of small neighborhood ponds, still searching for that 8+

Thanks for the info I'll see about reserving one of their boats soon

If you can get access to lake silver, you will catch at least 20 bass on a good day. Also, there is a chance for a 10+ pound bass in there.

You should be able to catch a 8 pound or bigger bass in Central Florida since it is one of the best places in the nation for catching a 8 pound or bigger bass. Focus on using proven big bass techniques. Try fishing at night if you have enough time.

It is, But there are much other places around town that have some big fish in them. But, show up in your firefighter uniform to ask to fish and you will get access almost 80% of the time.

Problem is you have to weed out all the ponds with stunted populations of bass. There's tons of ponds with stunted populations so what I usually do is try to find the older 20+ year old ponds using google earths time travel feature so you can see how long a pond has been there and when housing and stuff developed around it.

Orlando and surrounding areas has amazing bank fishing. You still have to put in the work if you want to do well in bass fishing, just like anything else in life. With the said Central and Northern Florida is the best place in Florida to catch a 8 pound or bigger bass so you should be able to catch lots of big bass.

In life hard work pays off. If you want to catch a 8 pound or better bass you have to work for it. Orlando and surrounding areas is one of the best places in Florida to catch big bass but you still have to put in the time on the water. You can always hire a fishing guide if this sounds too hard for you. With that said use techniques proven for big bass, put your time on the water, and learn from each fishing trip.

Thanks to my schedule I fish 4 to 5 days a week so putting in time and effort isn't an issue its finding the spots that have the bigger fish, I consistently catch 4-7 lbers pretty much every day I fish. 

You still have to put in your time wisely if your goal is to catch 8 pound and bigger bass. Use proven big bass techniques. Put your time on the water. Learn from each fishing trip. I have been very fortunate in bass fishing and have caught several bass over 8 pounds, they are not as hard to catch as some people make them to be if you work towards your goal. I catch these bass in South Florida from land in public waters which is nowhere as good for big bass as Central and Northern Florida. My cousin is in High School and he has caught more 8 pound and bigger largemouth bass than most men that have fished for +40 years. I taught him what I am teaching you in this thread and it seems to be working well for him. He lives in Central Florida which is a fishing paradise for largemouth bass fishing and I won't be surprised if he catches a 13 pound or bigger bass in the next couple of years.

I live in SWFL which is even tougher to find quality bass. Not exactly the bass capital. Small bass rule. I refer to it as trout fishing!

You can bank fishing at any boat ramp along the St. John’s river. 

The Harris Chain is about a 40 minute drive from Orlando.  The Chain has numerous public piers, seawalls and docks where you can fish.  One of the best is from the waterfront park in downtown Eustis. You can fish from shore or from the concrete walkway.  I have caught some nice fish around the pool seawall and from the park itself.  I catch my fish on a Texas rigged plastic worm fished on the bottom. If you go, try to fish on the weekdays as it gets pretty crowded on weekends.

The Millenia Lake Walking Trail by the Mall at Millenia had some big fish 10 years ago.
