Shaky head. Am I late this year?

The spawn is probably a distant memory to the Clearlake Largemouth bass.

i want to try the shaky-head.

picked up some gama 1/8 heads. Looks to be a 3/0 hook.  I have:

Zman FattyZ

Zman floating worm

Zoom Trick worm

And various 4” finess worms.

am I too late?  I was told it’s a prespawn technique?   I’m hitting Clearlake Sunday.  I want to try.  Any tips?

Never too late for a shaky head.

I fish shaky here in MO all year long.

It's a finesse technique that works year-round.

I literally landed four yesterday at the boat ramp on Lake Jordan here in my home town on a 1/4 oz luck-E-strike jig head with a Zoom June bug trick worm all within the first 20 minutes. As mentioned earlier, never too late to start.

I also catch bass all season long on shakey head and it’s my favorite technique.

Shakey head is to me what top water is to others in terms of that excitement you feel when the line bumps. It’s just a no brainer for me when it comes to using it or not as I ALWAYS have a shakey head rig with me when I go fishing. I caught the bulk of my bass last year on a shakey head when nothing else worked.

Thanks. I’m strangely nervous and excited about it. My zoom trick is green pumpkin

It’s been my experience that bass will eat any color trick worm with shaky head. I do prefer June bug, watermelon red, black, scuppernong by zoom. You’ll do fine with the green pumpkin though. What clarity of water are you fishing?

Very little visibility.  My fatty z is water melon red.

That was my same clarity yesterday. Mildly stained with mayyyyyyybe a foot of visibility. Don’t worry friend, you’ll have a good time with the shaky head.

My sister and her better half caught several good bass at 4 pounds plus this week. Some were on beds.

All year round, and is a top producer in the summer when other techniques are a bust.

Shaky-head bass caught.  What a great technique!   I got some hard enthusiastic hits.
