Savage Gear soft swimbait ?

Featured Replies

Recently purchased the weedless version 4" 1 1/4oz.

The way the hook is oriented, looks like hookup ratio may be questionable.

I've seen Savage gear recommended here before.

Anyone have any insight on this bait ?

Thanks

Which one is it? There's a 4" shiner, 4" bluegill, 4" baitfish. I've got all of them. As with any weedless bait, the hookup ratio isn't as good as it would be with an exposed hook, but with the right equipment and by prepping the bait, you can increase it quite a bit.

4" blue gill.

I'll be throwing it on a 7'2 HF frog rod.

By prepping, do you mean bending the hook up slightly ?20210525_074958.thumb.jpg.bd06a61c731826c995ad014659122823.jpg

Sharpen it and grease that bait up with the slippery scent of your choice.
