Ya - polluting the water. WD-40 is made from petroleum distillates - closely related to gas, oil, kerosene - they don't want people who think it does work as an attractant polluting up those streams.

Remember years ago hearing about it being a secret weapon, even better than spitting tobacco juice on worms. Lol

Edit: seen where this topic has been discussed in the past.

I’ve heard the tobacco thing but never WD40. 

Some people swear by using it but I always tell them its a terrible thing to use.
