New V hull mod Project!!

Featured Replies

Hey guys, Picked up a steal today. Sold the $75 jon I bought and modded with a trailer for $900. Not bad, so I grabbed a 1958 Aqualine 14.5 ft semi V with an excellent running 1953 15hp Evinrude Fastwin sitting on a 1986 cox trailer for only $500. Everything is in great shape structurally and mechanically although I am having the V professionally welded to be safe. I also got a Minn Kotta Powerdrive 40 lb bow mount off a guy that owed me a favor for only $50. I think I stepped in sh**. I am modding this to a bass rig and wanted to share the before and after with everyone because we all love this stuff! If anyone can post the link to the V mod I saw a while back, I would appreciate it, always looking for more ideas. Here are the pics the guy sent to me before I bought it. I couldn't believe how he had it painted.

Alright, I got it sanded and ready for primer and paint, but my spray gun broke so that's out til tomorrow. But I did get the decks cut and it was much easier than i thought and its going to turn out pretty cool. Paint and carpet for the decks tomorrow. Here are a couple pictures of the decks.

Boat is done, came out better than I expected, the extra weight from the decks and floors slowed it down a little but added some stability. It was a fun project and I plan on doing it again. I still have to repaint the motor, but that could wait--I have some fishing to do!! Here are some pics.

Thanks. I used 5 cans of Krylon Gloss Black and 1/2 can of chrome for the wheels. I debated spraying it with the air gun but decided against it.

Thanks. I kinda said the same thing when I looked at the before and after pictures. It's cool what a little paint and some elbow grease could do. Me and the father in law are thinking about flippin' boats for a little extra cash!

Here is the first one I caught off of the boat. Father in law got the first one, so I owe him breakfast, but mine was bigger so I was happy about that.
