Which size Pflueger President to put on a St. Croix 7 medium light rod for casting inline spinners for smallmouth and largemouth?  

I just bought the Phfluger President 30X for my Diawa Aird 7 foot medium light rod and really like it so far.

I've got a President 25 on my Dobyns Fury 702SF - works just fine.

I just bought a 30 the other day. I don’t think you would go wrong either the 25 or 30.

I have 3 President size 30 reels. They balance well on my 6'6" spinning rods.

I’d prefer the 30

I would probably go with the 25. It's lighter, and should hold enough 6 or 8# fluorocarbon or 10 or 15# braid as long as you don't use lines that run on the heavy side for their weight rating.

That much is certain - my Pres-25 is loaded with 70yds of 10# Sufix 832 backed by 40yds of 6# Sufix Elite...plenty of line.

I have the prior gen in 30 size and use it with 15# braid, and it works but it's gigantic and I don't how know much backing it has, but it's a lot.
