  1. These boxes are great. I previously used shoebox size plastic containers. These are so much better with the dividers. I have tried to simplify things and the 4 spaces are perfect for me to keep a few packs of worms, curly tail grubs, paddle tails, and some jig trailers all in one box.
  2. A friend of mine who owned an independent auto shop and sold tires, told me a lot of auto companies use cheaper tires with less initial tread to save a few bucks. I wonder if this is the case with your car? In addition to tread depth, tire pressure is something to check regularly as it can also affect wear.
  3. Okuma Celilo UL is a good inexpensive option. https://okumafishingusa.com/collections/rods/products/celilo-specialty-b-rods
  4. Definitely lighter and stiffer. Makes a huge difference at the end of the day if you are in a paddle only kayak. I had a Werner Camano. Got it on sale, but still expensive. https://www.rei.com/product/781866/werner-camano-straight-2-piece-paddle Drip rings help with paddle dripping water on you. https://www.rei.com/product/208493/seattle-sports-seawall-drip-rings
  5. Spyderco Delica 4 https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C11BK/209 Have had the Swiss Army Classic SD keychain one mentioned above for years. Upgraded to a newer Rambler keychain model that adds a philips screwdriver and bottle opener. https://www.victorinox.com/en-US/Products/Swiss-Army-Knives/Small-Pocket-Knives/Rambler/p/0.6363 Also keep an OG Leatherman in the glovebox.
  6. Looks good! What crossbar feet did you get to fit the Subie?
  7. What single hooks do you guys like?
  8. Anyone know where to download old USA Shimano Catalog PDFs? Google searches keeps showing me ones for Europe or Asia. No luck finding US ones. Looking for specs on older rod lines. Thanks!
  9. Another vote for the NRS Chinook. Comfortable and the pockets are great for keeping hooks, baits, and pliers. Buy once, cry once.
  10. Good fishing for trout! Try some kastmasters on a long rod so you can really chuck it out there. Make sure to use some bug repellent. It's tick central. More info here: https://www.mass.gov/locations/wachusett-reservoir
  11. @Bazoo Don't know if you ever found a 2 piece casting rod. Found that Daiwa makes a 2 piece 6'6" Medium and a 7' MH in the Aird-X line. Lot's of good reviews of the Aird-X line on Bass Resource. $50-$55 https://daiwa.us/collections/freshwater-rods/products/aird-x-rods
  12. Thanks for all the replies!
  13. Do you recommend taking out the spool for a Calcutta 200d and rinsing as shown after every saltwater use?
  14. Just found this video from Shimano on reel maintenance. Never thought to wash reels this deeply. What do you guys do?
  15. That's a pretty sweet setup @Crow Horse!
  16. @Eric 26Thanks for heads up! I'll check out @bulldog1935 posts.
  17. @Eric 26Funny. I was looking for recommendations for 2 piece 6'6" casting and spinning rods when I saw you tag me. Also looking for padded and divided rod tubes to keep them in the trunk. I do have a three piece Daiwa Ardito in casting rod in medium power. Overall, it's great. Fit and finish are above the price and the case is great as it has dividers for all three pieces. Only downsides to me are it's a bit heavy in weight and the power of the medium is more like a MH to me. I also prefer 6'6" rods. I'm probably just being picky, but you can never have too much fishing gear. 😁
  18. Spyderco Delica 4 PlainEdge and a Swiss Army Classic SD on my keychain
  19. Which Knipex model do you guys have?
  20. I wound up going with a Shimano Spheros SW. Almost all my reels are Shimano and this one feels familiar to me. Thanks for all the recs!
  21. Thanks for the recommendations!
  22. Anyone have saltwater spinning reel recommendations? Planning to fish Southern California beaches for perch, corbina and halibut. Planning on using a carolina rig or luckycraft 110’s using a 7 foot mf spinning rod. Trying to keeping it under $200. Thanks!
