  1. Good choice! He has a good sense of humor. Congratulations @TnRiver46
  2. Did anyone else just get an email notice from IDX about a data security incident?
  3. I worked in finance and have made lots of spreadsheets and have done statistical analysis. I don't need that for my hobby. If I was a tournament angler, yeah, but fishing is for fun. I just like casting and sometimes I accidentally hook a fish or two. I use the force. It tells me what to do.
  4. I've tried a few aluminum pliers and these Rapala 6.5" Fisherman's Pliers are still my favorite. https://www.rapala.com/rapala/fishing-tools/pliers-and-forceps/fishermans-pliers-/Fishermans+Pliers.html?cgid=rapala-fishingTools-pliersForceps&taglist=Rapala|Fishing Tools|Pliers %26 Forceps#start=3&cgid=rapala-fishingTools-pliersForceps
  5. I bought lefty reels for topwater, jerkbaits and frogs. It's so much better for me. I never felt like I could work baits properly with my left (non dominant hand) and reeling always felt clumsy. I still have plenty of right handed reels I use for everything else. A left handed reel is just a click away. The Bait Monkey says do it!
  6. I do have one I got from the Coast Guard that has my info and an emergency contact # in case they find the kayak and not me.
  7. You should ask your high school college counselor if they have a career interest survey you can take. That might point you in the right direction. Your high school counselor can also discuss your grades, extra curricular activities, SAT/ACT scores and family financial situation to see if you should apply to college and which ones would be best for you. Good Luck!
  8. Looks nice! How's the balance with the 30 size?
  9. If you like Abu, take a look at the Winch. It's specifically made for crankbaits and is $200. https://www.abugarcia.com/products/revo-winch-low-profile-reel-1430443?variant=34170362429579 If you're looking for a cheaper Abu model, they also make a low speed one in the Revo X line for $100. https://www.abugarcia.com/products/revo-x-low-profile-reel-1430439?variant=34170362855563
  10. 1/8 oz Kastmaster and the 1/8 oz Strike King Bitsy Minnow crankbait work well for me.
  11. Nice! What rod and reel combo is rod is that?
  12. I like Herdez Medium Hot Salsa https://www.salsas.com/herdez/products/salsas/salsa-casera-medium/
  13. I use the 1/4 oz Keitech Model I Casting Jig. https://www.keitechusa.com/catalog/model-i-tungsten-casting-jig.html
  14. I have a small tackle bag with a spinning reel with 8lb mono, pliers, some hooks and a couple bags of plastics. I keep a 2 piece 6'6" spinning rod in this Plano tube: https://planomolding.com/collections/rod-reel-storage/products/rod-tube-999444800
  15. Arbogast Jitterbug or Hula Popper
  16. 8^ Richie Blackmore is awesome!
  17. I'm in the same boat. It is a little nerve racking. Hang in there. I also bought some "Student Driver" magnetic signs to put on our cars. Most other drivers seem to be a little more patient when they see them.
  18. I always do this when people come fix stuff for me, but I always wonder if this annoys the guys. I really just find fixing and building super interesting and never learned anything from my father who is an accountant. I tried to take an auto-shop class in HS, but the teacher had a heart attack the second week and they never replaced him. How do you guys, that do this kind of work, feel about a customer watching you?
  19. It wasn't all bad. We had skateboarding, BMX, Van Halen and Charlie's Angels.
  20. My parents saving green (or was it blue) stamps and filling books to get our first black and white TV.
  21. I took it before the riot broke out at the '85 grand olympic auditorium show in LA
  22. Congratulations! Wow! That guy f****d up that BMW.
