Rate the song above you

I'm not sure how much interest this will have on this forum but I figured I'd try it out. This type of thread was done in another forum I'm on and it was pretty interesting. Basically each person listens to and rates out of 10 the song posted above them and then posts a song they enjoy. It can be as simple as "8/10 here's my song:" or you can go into more depth about why you rated it the way you did. It lets people share their musical interests and also might expose people to stuff they have not heard before. The only rule is you should ideally listen to the entirety of the song you are rating. I'll start and we can see if you guys like the thread enough to keep it going.

  • Two of my favorites .... Sierra Hull and Billy Strings, singing a Bill Monroe classic. I know this won't be most people's cup of tea, but I enjoy the talent.   We saw Sierra in concert last

Waste of a great talent

To me,  girl singers are plug and play.  With most of their songs,  any of them can be plugged into any song and it wouldn't necessarily change.   Amy is in a class of her own.  Just like Janis.

Can't agree that gender affects individuality.

I can dig.  I enjoy nearly every genre of music,  but love the blues.  Make it over to st. Louis muddy blues festival every year I can.  7/10

There are so many female pop singers over the years that you could plug any of them into the songs and it wouldn't really change the song,  that's just my opinion.   There are always exceptions.  I've just personally noticed it more with females than males.  If you're beautiful and can sing and can dance around a bit wearing little or next to nothing,  you're a pop star.    Men (at least to me) seem to be different,  a little more distinct.   I don't want to see them wearing little or next to nothing.

Very talented couple.
