If you could have one reel.

Featured Replies

If you can only have one reel in your current collection and the rest had to go.   Which one are you keeping?

Do I get extra spools? Because if I get extra spools, it’s a 34mm Daiwa casting reel.

If not, it’s a 35/3500 spinning reel, many brands would work for a spinning reel, imo.

Extra spools allowed.   One reel and whatever accessories you currently have for it

Been through these threads many times.  Still haven't narrowed my selection to one reel.  I have many 'favorites'.  :teeth:

I'd be awful tempted to keep the Okuma Helios Air.  Light.  Holds enough line.  Very good distance.  Not a finicky caster.

Zillion SV TW 100L 6.3 gear ratio.

Knowing there is a plethora of aftermarket parts available for Daiwa reels I’m going to keep my Tatula Type R but I would be tempted to keep my Favorite Soleus as it just really works for me. As a ps I’d order all the aforementioned parts box them up and send said box with reel to Texas where the man who posted above me lives and be very happy when it was returned 😁

Sweet. What happen to your old quantum collection?

These Bantams are very sweet reels

I still have the all of the Quantum reels.

They may be dated but you helped me keep them rolling along.

Tried to give them away- I mean 'sell' them here in the BR Flea Market forum

Didn't happen.

I’m similar to Ajay here, except I would sway to the Met over the bantam.  The both fish about the same.  The bantam is a little heavier and a touch bigger, the met is lighter and is slightly chiseled around the edges.  Very minor differences.  I wouldn’t hate a full set of Zillions either.  Across the three there are pluses and minuses but the Met would be my choice.

My dad has similar preferences, except he’s on the chronarch.  He’s converted over to them over the past 5 or 6 years entirely.

Aldebaran BFS. It doesn’t satisfy many presentations due to its low drag and spool size but it’s the style I use most often.

Probably my 20 Metanium XG I have on my Megabass Destroyer Super Bandersnatch. I can put a shallow spool in it for finesse on a ML rod, or just sling the 40# braid I have on it now with a fluoro leader for everything from burning a squarebill to buzzbaits, flipping, pitching, fishing a frog over open water, etc.

That's a tough one.  I own beaucoup reels that could make the list.  I'd have to say my 7.3:1 1st generation 13 Fishing Concept C.  This 13's been a workhorse and just plain old rips.

Hummmm, if casting properly the Curado CU200  Mean Green. At 6.3:1 it’s the most versatile reel I own.

If spinning, Vanford 3000XGFA. The smoothest spinning reel I’ve ever owned

be a hard choice between the two……….

Didn't you have a whole mess of Quantum Exos as well? That's a serious pile of Bantams....

Per the OP, I don't have anything crazy but I'd have to go with one of my Curado 150 MGLs, the 7:1 if it could only be the one.

Yes 100's and 200's.

The 100's are nearing the end of the line so they are 'resting'.

Still fish the 200's though.

Both locally and abroad, if I can ever get back there.
