Shimano fx

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anybody is familiar with the shimano fx. It looks pretty good for the price, I’m just looking for more information.

I have had a several of them over several years. Thankfully, they finally updated the design to be more like the rest of the Shimano spinning reels. They do their job, but are priced about where they should be. Each $10 jump in price gets you a few little upgrades.

I've had them many years ago before the update when they were just black, plastic looking reels in blister packs. They're serviceable reels and you'll get your $20 worth out of them.

I fished with them years ago also. They do their job.

Don’t get all hung up in the real high dollar stuff. It really is not necessary. A good rod and good line may be more important. Along with a good line roller.
