Big tungsten weights fraying line

Featured Replies

Just starting using some big tungsten weights for flipping and had a few break off from what I assume was line fray. Had this happen on both braid and fluorocarbon lines. Any suggestions to fix this issue? Are the weights with inserts or polished insides any good? Any certain brand of weights better than others? Mostly using 1 oz.

How's the quality of the weights from http://www.omfishingsinkers.com?

Picassos insert  and polished weights have been really good for me.  For flipping I don't mind inserts, even ones that absorb vibration because Im not dragging them like a FB jig or C rig.

Here are a few of the 1/8oz from Omnifishing.   They have been great so far.  The paint holds up and they have not frayed any line.

I saw these in another post.   I think they will be game changers.  They have a wider hollow profile that protects the knot.  I wonder how this will change how the baits fall and fish.  Will it cause it pick up more junk in the water or maybe less?  And when do these come out?  I need some....
