Went to their site yesterday and saw that they're adding 2 new smaller boats next year. A conventional 17.5', and a throw-back to early 70's "cathedral" or tri-hull design. The tri-hull reminds me of a fancy version of my dad's 14' Ted Williams (sears) fiberglass tiller boat with a 7.5 hp Ted W.  outboard. It was a simple boat that we had alot of fun in....

I learned to water-ski behind a 1970s Crestliner Tri-Hull - pulled people quite well with a 75hp. Being spotter though was...interesting...felt every wave and wake right through the tailbone...even in padded seats.

It was a Sears Gamefisher not a ted w. boat. My bad.

We didn't get enough speed with that 7.5 to make a rough ride. ?

I saw the article on Bass Blaster on the new Bass Cat's. I liked them both. The 17' 7" Bob Cat looked really nice and rated for a 150. The tri-hull looked Sharp too. 16' 5", rated for a 115. The tri-hull had sea deck type flooring. Be interesting to know the cost.

What does the bob cat cost?

Tri-hulls had a reputation for not so smooth rides. There have been some huge advancements in catamaran hulls on offshore boats. Maybe some of that bled over to tri-hulls. That being said, I don't see the benefit in a 17ft boat.
