Wake me up if they are ever affordable. Actually just leave me sleeping

For 16.5K a 200HP gasser can be had.

I personally know a very very very close relative of Mary Barra (CEO of GM). GM's decisions are, dare I say are 100% influenced, by outside sources.

Name a large corporation who’s decisions aren’t.

And that is exactly what is wrong with our country. The market no longer decides what people want. We've changed from a country where the consumer develops the market to a market that develops the consumer.

Trying to stay away from the politics and fully realize we are going down bow 1st, we should be aware of what is going on regarding electric motor technology. There is a video with a Tracker bass powered by the 50 hp purewatercraft motor.

Apparently GM is  teaming to add hydrogen hybrid powered electrical motors.

Also known as ‘marketing’.   I’m not sure if markets develop the consumer as much as exploit them.  I don’t think an electric outboard will develop ‘new’ consumers, but I’d bet hundreds of anglers fishing ‘electric motor only’ waters will respond.  There is tons of money spent convincing consumers that they ‘have to have____________(fill in the blank).  The outdoor sports/recreation industry is a prime example.

California via CARB (California Air Resource Board) outlawed the use of carbureted 2 cycle engines and gasoline formulated with MTEB additives 10 years ago. The CARB regulators are not elected they are appointed.

Every car mfr today is offering electric hybrid cars in California knowing gasoline or diesel powered cars, trucks, buses will be outlawed by CARB within this decade.

Electric powered boats are in our future sooner then you all believe.

Possibly true, but I’ve been hearing that my whole life and I still see a few thousand gas Diesel engines all day every day. The people that sell oil aren’t going to go away quietly

Agree this has been going on a long time.

Petroleum products are in nearly everything man made today.

All plastics including clothing, tires, batteries, nearly everything we use today is petroleum based. Fuel is only a part of the “oil” business. I never thought I would see the day that high end performance cars would be hybrids like Mercedes AMG’s, 2022’s are hydride...it’s coming sooner then later.
