Berkley Fireline Fused Crystal?

Featured Replies

Have you used it? Do you like it? I bought some 6-pound to try on a light spinning rod.

Yes, I've been using "fused" Fireline on spinning reels since the mid 1990s.

Yes, no.

I've used the Crystal fused line decades ago, but it was much heavier than 6, maybe more like 14 on a 3000 size spinning reel.

I tried it on casting gear and was not a fan.  The lakes I fish are stained and it turned the line brown in no time.  In general,  it just wasn't good line.  There are better options at the same price.

It’s a good line but there are better choices (power pro)

I like it a lot. I use 14#.

Been overwhelmingly dissapoint with 99% of all Berkley products from their floro to mono to fireline to rods. I would honestly fork out the extra 5 bucks for diawa j braid or power pro braid, or if you really want to buy a cheap braid I would even say buy KK braid, piscifun braid, runcl braid, but that's just my experience, the stuff is good for the first few trips but gets extraordinarily weak fast, went fishing for 1 week and the line was unusable day three of all day fishing trips because I could not keep tying knots without breaking...  i have had this experience multiple times on the trip and had used four full spools of their floro and mono to get me through the trip because it only lasted 14-16 hours of fishing. Maybe I just got 6 spools of line bad in a row, but the stuff is fine for anything over 15lbs for  bass fishing, alot of guys here like the big game, I just think there are better options for the same or cheaper price, anything lower than 10lbs I'd stay away from

I tried years ago, didn’t like it. I put it on an ultra lite, 4or 6 lbs, made noise when casting and when bringing back in. They probably have improved it since then.

It settles in and gets quieter as it breaks in.

Wow, I've never heard of such a thing!
