You have to find which style of shirt works best for you.  I see 2 main types, both made from the same material.  First type have the fabric “vents” usually across the back and can be webbed down the sides.  The second and my favorite are the shirts that have “waffle” type panels.  They seem to promote the most airflow for me.  There’s always just the solid poly shirts, they seem to be the most cost effective.  Since there hasn’t been a shirt produced yet to highlight my “physique” I just let it all hang out.????

Neither am I, but they sure show the few extra pounds I got going. Fortunately (but really unfortunately) there are not a lot of ladys around when fishing to be ashamed.

I’ve never heard about the waffle panels. I just did a search and see something called “waffle pique”, is that it? I guess it’s a style of weave that comes in different fabrics. It does look like it would make a cool shirt. I’ve never seen a shirt like that. I’ve got a lightweight blanket that’s similar. I’m familiar with the vented shirts, but haven’t tried one yet.

I’m not so concerned with what the ladies at the lake think as I am concerned with fooling myself. In my mind I’m still 30 years old and weigh 165. It’s only when I pass in front of a mirror that I’m faced with reality. ?

The ones I have seen are not the entire shirt.  Mainly just a strip along the armpits down past the waist and shoulder to shoulder on top.  I can’t  remember who makes them but I’ll keep an eye out.

Im not sure how comfortable it is gonna be since mostly it is cotton shirt and take longer time to dry. I prefer polyester performance shirt these days like Columbia PFG series.

Available in 3X large too. Probably not going to find anything cheaper than that.

Linen light and kind of see-through is good very comfortable to wear but UV protection might not be the best. Those are the fabric choice for native ppl in hot and humid climate.
