Yamamoto Megastrike

I need to know from those who have actually used it only please what they think of it. Buying scent like everything else is an issue. I've used Smelly Jelly for years and like it. I've wanted to try Megastrike for years but have not. I've heard it's more of a mix that makes them hold on than an attractant.Being a Horder I just ordered 5 tubes from Sportsman's outfitters . Ok guys let's hear it.

I have a tube and use it. A dab on the index finger and thumb rubbed onto a bait. The stuff sticks to the bait and doesn’t need to be reapplied as often as other brands. Can’t say I ever reapplied it come to think of it.

Does it work? I believe so. A trip with my father in law comes to mind. We were throwing tubes and Ned rigs. The bite dried up so I rubbed on some Megastrike. I caught a smallmouth on that cast. Two more for me before my father in law was asking for the tube…

I have been using MegaStrike for over twenty years. I use it religiously on

all soft plastics. I believe it helps hold fish longer.

Wow it's been out that long ? I knew it was a while but I didn't think it was that long. Guess I'm getting old.

Smell way better than smelly jelly, I don’t mind having megastrike on my hand.  I actually rub my hand with megastrike before fishing when I was a smoker).

To hold the bait longer, I’ve never wait to found out but last couple time with smelly jelly, I was surprised, I thought I set a fouled hook into weed but the bass either come back or hold on to a lure.

When I'm fishing something "slow" I always use Megastrike original.  Also, if I'm pitching and have the bait in my human-smelling hand repeatedly, I religiously wash my hands in lake water with a fragrance-free soap and I use the hand I hold with to put the Megastrike on.  Leaves my hand smelling of Megastrike and not human or gasoline or peanut butter sandwich.  Some people believe in the lunar calendar.  I believe that this routine causes fish to hold on longer.  Results may vary.

I’ve said this on other posts but it bears repeating…..

I don’t think Megastrike gets me more bites, but I do believe it makes the fish hold onto the bait for a second or two longer which increases my ability to register the strike and set the hook before the fish spits the bait out.

If they don’t want to bite a certain plastic, they aren’t going to bite it whether you use a cover scent/ attractant or not. I think it does make a difference once you figure out what they want.

Why not believe in both?  Seems there's compelling evidence for both beliefs.

Because I sat down several nights in a row one evening in the winter and I plotted every single day for three months in the spring using three of the most "respected" bass fishing calendars available.  I was blown away at how often they completely and oppositely contradicted each other.  It was unmistakable.  The top bass fishing psychics consistently choose opposite "ratings" for each day.  Of course it's easy to find "evidence" that it works.  Just pick the psychic calender that aligns with your results for the day.
