Daiwa Steez CT SV vs Zillion SV

Featured Replies

i’ve had both reels and aside from the size difference the zillion seems as good in every way, i don’t see any other difference than size.  anyone else have thoughts?

In fact some of my zillions seem to cast farther but it could be individual settings

I own mostly Steez SV TW’s and but have 2 newer model Zillions (I have never owned a CT).  As far as overall performance, I don’t see much of a difference.  I just grabbed 2 new rods and am probably going to put a Zillion SV and HD on them.

I have the current and immediately prior CT SV.  They are both great reels but the former is the most expensive reel that I have ever purchased.  Incremental improvement for sure but worth it if you are an aficionado.

To you, no judgement here - what makes it worth it? just curious

Smoother gearing and general refinement vs the prior model.  Worth it to me but not suggesting it is a must have.

I'd think the tiny steez ct spool would equate to coily line with higher lb test.

Perhaps, but I don't think the reel was designed for that use case.  I'm using 6# mono and it works great.  YMMV.
