Besides crossing the wake at full throttle,  doesn't it look like he had his motor trimmed up a little too much for the conditions?

Yah, someone on another message board I'm on was stating that they know that driver, and he's very experienced, safe, seasoned boater, etc, etc............ ...............I hope so.  :-/

Sometimes experience and skill can breed complacency and pride. If he really has that much experience and skill, then that would explain it to me. He was wearing his vest AND kill switch which many folks do not. I always have my vest but I can attest to failing to hook up the kill switch each and every time like I should. I made it easy for myself it being hooked to a lanyard which EASILY hooks to my vest. 

Co-anglers beware.. I was fishing as a co-angler on the St. Lawrence river and my boater hit wave from one of the ocean liners that frequent that river. I thought I was dead.. We got major air and when we landed my whole body slammed on the seat.. Felt like I was piled-drived.  Only to hit the next roller after it. I swear the boat cracked in half...Worst experience fishing to date... Speed kills.

Yeah, we had a good long thread on this video quite awhile back.  It still blows me away every time I see it.

I use to see knuckleneahds like that on the Delta all the time.  Now I only fish during th week.  Seriously I dont get the need for extracting the last 1/4 mph of speed out of a bass boat.  Even though I have a 300 Merc Racing motor, I'm more than happy zipping along at 50 -55 mph.  When I do encounter wakes like that, I slow down to what ever speed needed to safely pass.  Guys pas me on the delta all the time, wringing their motors out for all their worth.

Only time I go WOT is during tournament blast offs or on really flat water with nobody around.  Otherwise 55 is fine with me.

I do drive slow when water is rough from boat traffic but when its calm there nothing like stringing it out at 100mph but thats with a life line life jacket and helmet and me by myself  in the boat and when i have the family in i never run over 40 and dont get me wrong it takes years of driving high performance boats to drive one over 80 mph when you get into the true i mean true 80mph it only takes a fraction of a second for things to go wrong and when you hear guys spouting off at the  ramp about how there boats will run over 80 mph 98.9 percent of them are full of ;.';-=    

Mine should have a top speed of 70-75, but with my Triumph Prop and settings on the jackplate 69 is all I can get.  With that being said, 65 is plenty fast for me.
