Had me all excited until I found out they removed the anti-reverse switch ?‍♂️

Last time I tried to use this function, I got tangle quick. I use anti reverse switch only when vertical jigging or drifting when searching for crappie.

It takes practice, it gives me so much better control over the fish though.

Isn't the new Ballistic MQ at the same price pt?

Yeah very interesting to see, Daiwa as of now have MSRP Procyon MQ @179 and ballistic MQ @229. New Tatula should have same internal and frame as Ballistic minus Magseal with old MSRP 199. The plus is newly designed Airdrive Zaion-V rotor which should make spin the handle super light and less inertia.

Me on the other hand not interested in MQ design from daiwa, instead very much want infinity loop from Shimano. The new vanquish also come with this technology but price is still too high for me. I might have to pray and wait for new Stradic.

I know this is an old thread but the 2500 FC sized tatula mqs are gems. Lighter than the equivalent sized vanfords at just under 6oz and far smoother than anything Shimano has to offer (think 19 certate levels of smooth). The air drive rotor in the tatulas 100 pct is an improvement over the ballistic MQ's rotor.. which combined with the magseal in ballistics made turning the handle a little heavy.

Daiwa really needs to bring the fc sizes reels to the US market.. for freshwater bass fishing where tons of people are using 2k sized reels anyways, they would absolutely blow the Vanfords out of the water.
