Tatulatard
Coming soon. Tapered spool and no ability to reel backwards. This is going to upset the seasoned spinning reel crowd.
PressuredFishing
Got two old 2018 model digitaka a few months ago, one is great, one is okay. Will be interested to see what people think
LCG
I bought the 2018 model 3 weeks ago at a steep discount. Figured the updated model was coming soon. The MQ seems to add a bit of weight when comparing the old and new ballistic. Will be curious of the specs and reviews of the new model. Haven't used the 2018 model yet, but initial improvements are positive.

mrpao
Wonder if Daiwa did away with the 1000 and 2000 sizes since they are not listed. Also the 3000 and 4000 sizes are not included. Maybe to be released at a later date?
Johnbt
Looks like a nice design. But I'm good, yesterday Amazon delivered 2 Tatula LTs, a 3000-CXH and a 4000-CXH. Maybe they'll have a deep, deep, deep discount sale somewhere. Get some backups for the backups. Maybe another 2500 and 5000.
Mbirdsley
Yeah I’m building a new spinning rod for wacky rigs. I may need to look into this reel for it. I like my bait-casting tatula’s. Only time I’ve ever reeled back wards is trout fishing trying to get a rapala under dead falls. what is it going to retail for? About the same as the bait casters ? Super User NorthernBasser Posted January 21 Super User Share Posted January 21 So this is replacing the LT? Doesn't seem like that's been out that long but maybe so.
GetFishorDieTryin
I cant see this new Hyper Marketing edition Tatula being anything under 300$ if the main is AL. Even if the main is that BS zinc Daiwa has no problem asking top $ for it, just look at Saltist MQ, a 300$+ spinner with a cast zinc main. Theyre really doing a number on the USDM reels. 14 minutes ago, NorthernBasser said: So this is replacing the LT? Doesn't seem like that's been out that long but maybe so. Yep, Ballistic and Procyon LT are no longer made, which is weird because they still make the old Saltist spinners.
Super User Bass_Fishing_Socal Posted January 21 Super User Share Posted January 21 I believe Daiwa introduced Tatula LT to North America market since Icast 2017 perfect timing to upgrade to complete with Vanford. I don’t see why Daiwa would price Tatula more than Vanford. Procyon MQ which is a class lower and usually use Zinc gear but same frame material Zion V and price at 179 MSRP. I expect Tatula would use same AL main gear as previous model.
lunkerboss923
That just means the Tatula LT goes on sale. Not too big a fan of MQ. They are noticeably heavier than the Shimanos in the same size. I was really liking the LT last time I handled one.

Super User Darth-Baiter Posted January 21 Super User Share Posted January 21 I'm cool with my Tatula LT. I use it more often than my Vanford, if I am being honest. yesterday, I had both out. and I was casting an reeling, NOT thinking about which was which. I didnt notice the differences.. msgf91
I just got the JDM Tatula LT not long ago too. 2500 Shallow spool. I better get the bearing kit from hedgehog studio before they switch to the new model. But I'm sure they'll still support the previous model for awhile

But yea, unmounted the reeks are different in weight.
Tatulatard
How long until the board is inundated with " my tatula lays line too far forward" issues from the tapered ABS spool? I remember that being an issue with the fuego lt reels. There was thread after thread to complain and fix the intentional tapered line lay of the ABS spools by adding a shim or something to counteract the intentional tapered line lay. Super User Boomstick Posted January 23 Super User Share Posted January 23 If they do not offer smaller sizes, this is a pass for me. The 2000 size is Daiwa's happy size for spinning reels for what I use spinning tackle for

The 2000 size is Daiwa's happy size for spinning reels for what I use spinning tackle for From what I understand, again not own it just from what I follow Daiwa line up, the FC (finesse custom) model is equivalent to compact (C) of previous generation model like Luvias FC2500 is 5.5oz compare to LT2500 6.3oz. This might not be true with this Tatula though. I have Ballistic FW C2500 which use pretty much the same body as Tatula 2000 but even bigger diameter spool. We have to wait until Daiwa release Tatula for North America. Talking about this Tatula, the only good thing I see is Airdrive rotor with also Zaion V meterial. The Zaion rotor would make the reel even smoother and lower inertia. I would think MQ body even on 2000 size reel would be larger compare to old LT2000.
