I'm fishing our regular Sunday pond hop. We are fishing a 1 vs 1 knockout using 4 baits. One lure is a football jig. This water has no cover and no rocks. It's got some grass and algae. I have attached a Google Earth image of the pond. What techniques with a football jig can you recommend? 

Is the water always as muddy as it looks? I would drag it all around that pinch point, if dragging doesn’t work maybe swim it a little.

Drag a heavy carolina rig until you find rock or structure

A jig is still a jig.  If there is a lot of grass you'll fight it some, but I'd bottom bounce it through the edges to start.  If fish are active or shallow I'd swim it.

Is the pond as low water level as the sat photo shows?

The Light color bottoms areas are hard, that is where you want to target with jigs.

How do you determine where to start fishing! The causeway and narrow opening is spot #1, the light point looks close enough to cast to, the light color bank pocket looks like a water treatment plant next to it, that is #2 spot.

Go light weight 1/4 to 3/8 oz FB jig with a creature bait trailer like Zoom Z Hog Jr, black Safire.

Why not swim it?

LOL. The Google Earth street view of my house is fairly recent, and the seam makes it look like I had 2 recycle bins out side by side out. The lake picture is also a composite, so it is only marginally useful in locating depth by water color most times. I am not a fan of football jigs, and use them only when rocky bottom and deeper water dictates, which apparently this situation doesn't, something like an Arkie would be my choice (after looking around with a moving bait).

Small football with a 2.8 or 3.3 keitech will crush if lolly gagged around.
