I generally prefer braid for most things but What techniques or baits do you think i The type of line (braid,FC,mono) matters?

 

For example i think mono makes sense on buzzbaits because floats.  I will never use braid again with a jerkbait again after having to deal with the line tangled up with the hooks. I like braid with frogs, etc.  To me FC makes sense for almost all moving bait reaction lures. 

 

there any other technique or application you would prefer one type of line over another?

Just use braid with everything since i like it and just learn to tie on leaders?

Use the line type you have confidence with.

Braid float better then mono.

Mono have 20-25% higher knot strength per diameter vs FC.

FC has lower coefficient of drag going though water ( less line bow) and sinks.

Take you pick.

Whatever I need for the situations presented.  I use braid, copoly, flouro, mono (rarely) when conditions dictate.  On my fly rods I use a straight copoly, flouro or mono leader.

If 10lb braid is a strength i am comfortable, as an example what equivalent lb test should i look for in FC or Mono.
