Thoughts on this reel and if it’s a good buy

Youll need the $250 Zillion from Japan website to match it.

How? Sitting on a couch measuring tolerances, fidget spinning, and checking knobs for end play? To me those things are a distant second to actual overall casting performance. In that regard, a $200 2020 Lew's Tournament Pro LFS eats it lunch performance wise on the water, which is why my CI4+ mostly collects dust. ACB is superior to SVS Infinity in every meaningful way IMO, especially the '15 CI4+'s version of it, and the Lew's 10-ish gram 34mm spool makes it a more versatile caster.

You are missing out on a very good reel. Mine with abec 7 bearings is set on one brake and never leaves that spot. Use it with ned rigs to whopper ploppers but fat ikas mostly and it casts those great.

Now dont know the condition of THAT reel but compared to my same year ChronarchCI4 Id say you wont get a better NEW reel under $200. Youll need the $250 Zillion from Japan website to match it. The drag is super smooth, like mentioned range of lures it handles is fantastic. Its also a reel that is Made in Japan another plus. Limiting factor will be the users abilities.

That’s pretty much what I was thinking. Not sure what the ci4 cost new. I have the chronarch mgl. It $280 new. If it’s in any kind of decent condition where a good cleaning puts it back in shape. It’s a steal.

The '15 CI4+ isn't your MGL.
