Valvodinho
Would this make a decent Texas rig/jig rod?
Super User FryDog62 Posted March 19 Super User Share Posted March 19 Yes, excellent rod when you need a Heavy rod that isn’t a meat stick, and you want an extra fast tip.

What he said, plus, I used one a bunch this winter for jigging Lipless. It worked very well for this. Brian.

Super User Jrob78 Posted March 19 Super User Share Posted March 19 The Braillist is another good option if you want a longer rod.

Sensitivity is good enough you won’t miss fish. I second the Brailist it was my first dedicated jig rod and it also did well.

I appreciate the recommendation and I'd consider the Braillist, but at my local shop they don't have any in stock. Super User Darth-Baiter Posted March 19 Super User Share Posted March 19 I have the PP. it does pitch well. I can pitch a 3/8th practice plug in my yard like a rock star. I have never been so accurate in my life. I can also cast the same plug all across my culdesac with gentle roll cast. I think this is because the tip is actually kinda "moderate". it loads up and catapults things with very little input from me. it transitions to Fast as it moves down the blank. I can flex it mid way fairly easy. I got it to frog and light-punch with. but there is no doubt, it would work perfect with weighted worms and jigs. for sure. but at the store I flexed the tour versatile and it definitely felt like the faster rod. probably better for bottom contact (on paper). I should have bought one when I had the chance. still kicking myself.
Tatulatard
It's an awesome junk fishing rod with a much more moderate xf action than the 1st gen. They are tip heavy so I don't like any of the levantes for dedicated tip up work but they get the job done. Its a heavy powered rod for pitching jigs and plastics, throwing a fog, 1/2 oz head bladed jig, big ploppers, 6" mag drafts and similar baits. It's a versatile do all rod for the heaver end of the spectrum or the beginning of the heaver end of the spectrum when you put down the all around MH rod.

Cbump
I have the orochi I use for pitching t-rigs and jigs. Recently learned it’s a good magdraft rod too so plan to try those and some big bite b5 line throughs.
