Lowrance Elite 9FS help

Featured Replies

So I upgraded from my Lowrance hook2 reveal 5 to the lowrance elite Fs9 for my kayak. My transducer is in the water and runs parallel with the bottom of my kayak. (Not tilted either way). My down scan and sidescan look terrible. Very grainy.
My batter is a 12 volt 7ah lithium batter.
Any idea what im doing wrong that my image on downscan/sidescan look so bad?  Both were way better on my hook reveal 5.

Do you have the correct transducer selected in setup? What voltage is your graph reading?

Ill have to check voltage. Didnt know i could check that.
I only have 1 transducer and it is set it at 200khz

There is a tag on the transducer cord that says what model it is. That should be the same as what you have your unit set up for.

Pedals in the way?

They are behind unit so it shouldn’t be getting interference from that. Prop is +- 1 ft away

It came new in box. Wouldn’t it be set correctly from the factory?

Units  can be used with a wide variety of transducers so they have options to choose which one you're using specifically. When you set the unit up, you're supposed to select the transducer model you're using for best results. I would check to make sure that's set first, then check to make sure the software is on the most up to date version, and also check to make sure it's getting proper voltage.
