Hi, my name is bob and I'm a Ned Rig addict. I've been an addict about 6 years now, I pretty much only fish Ned Rigs, they never let me down. I try to quit, and throw something else, but before long I always find I'm tying one on. I lied... Its always tied on, I bring them everywhere I go. Even if I'm not fishing I have one tied to loose line in my pocket just in case I need it. I sneak them into work with me, even when I'm driving I always have a Ned rig next to me. When I'm not throwing one I'm thinking about throwing one, I'm more fun when I throw a Ned Rig. They just make me feel good, they always produce that rod bending feeling I'm always chasing. I try not to let the kids see, but I can't help it, I even let them throw a Ned sometimes, but at least I'm there and I know they're safe. But I'm committing this year to throw a more diverse set of lures, I will still likely have one with me, and will throw it as clean up instead of as my starter, but I promise I'll be better. I've caught some of my biggest fish on the Ned, my pops caught a 6-7 pounder on the Ned. I've come here for help, so thank you to all my angling brothers and sisters for your support! Please share your Ned stories or alternatives.

I’ve used a round head Arkie and Eagle Claw jigheads way more than the mushroom head. Lately, I’ve been using BPS Crappie Maxx pro round jigheads. Can’t imagine the mushroom head would be that much better.

I don't much think it matters, tbh. I've caught on both. The mushroom heads just suit my OCD a little better.
